Building Your Own Cargo Trailer

An easy option out is to buy used cargo trailers, but if that is not your idea of smart buying then you can always settle for making your own cargo trailer.
A self-made cargo trailer does not only come a lot cheaper but since it’s custom-made, it would perfectly meet all your needs. Building a cargo trailer is quite easy. All you need is an old pop-up camping trailer, and some of the tools which are commonly available at home. Added to this you would also require an artistic touch and some amount of patience.
The first step is to teardown the exterior of the camper’s trailer. You will need the help of saw, sledgehammer, and crowbar for doing this. Once you have done that you would have to saw down the roof of the structure. This is the basic step since the frame of the old trailer would be used for making the new cargo trailer.
The next step is to tear down the interior. But this would not be as easy as pulling out the exterior of the trailer. So be patient and use the saw to cut down the cabinets inside the trailer. Discard them. The next step is to tear away the flooring. For this you will need the help of the crowbar. Beneath the flooring there would be several layers of wiring, piping etc. so after taking off the flooring you need to take these off and discard them. Now the frame is ready to take on new lumber. Cut the lumber logs in the right size and place them on the base of the frame. Now attach them to the frame by using bolts.
And your self-made cargo trailer is ready!
