Facilities at Gatwick Airport

Airports are used thousands of times a day and they have become pretty well equipped at keeping their passengers comfortable whilst they wait to get-away on their dream all inclusive holidays.

If you are travelling on the Gatwick Airport to London bus route, here’s a short run down of some facilities the airport has to make your journey as convenient as possible when you arrive… or depart for that matter.

Flight times are sometimes inconvenient. They could be in the middle of the night, or the middle of the morning, which is often most often problematic for family travellers whose children need their rest.

Thankfully there are a handful of hotels just minutes away from the check-in desks where you can rest up before or after travelling.

The Hilton at the South Terminal has extensive facilities that include: a business centre, meeting rooms, hair salon, 24-hour Express Gym, restaurants and bars. Yotel also have a presence there, and have rooms that accommodate four-hour waits all the way up to a full overnight stay. In the North Terminal, the Sofitel has family rooms and easy-access rooms available.

There are a plethora of shopping opportunities inside the terminals. Fashion & accessories, books & magazines, beauty & perfume ranges and duty free goods are all available before or after you fly.Gatwick also offers a Shop & Drop service, whereby goods can be picked up upon your return trip. It’s available in all stores and there is no limit as to how many items that can be stored. The Shop & Drop service is available to all passengers flying within the EU, including domestic flights within the UK.

For eating options, you are equally as spoilt as the large range of purchasable goods available. There are fine dining options at Giraffe, Cafe Rogue, and the Caviar House and Prunier, which promises a “unique dining experience at our seafood bar”, with an award-winning wine list.

For more modest wallets, there are Wetherspoons and Lloyds restaurants and bars; both make great places to have a pre-flight coffee or beer.

For families, there are the favourites: Apostrophe who serve sweet and savoury pastries, and the Armadillo Cafe and Grill; a fun, friendly restaurant serving fantastic food with a Santa Fe twist, inspired by the southern USA.

And finally for those in a rush, McDonalds and Pret make the quickest options for a snack.
